Today we celebrate Day of the Dead, a vibrant, deeply rooted Mexican tradition, recognized by UNESCO as cultural heritage, that unites the living and the departed, with origins dating back over 500 years. During this time of the year, the country fills up with colorful altars adorned with marigold petals, candles, and offerings of favorite foods.
This tradition features unique dishes and sweets, among which is the pan de muerto, a traditional sweet bread enjoyed, especially, on November 1st and 2nd. This delicious treat is also placed on the altars to honor and remember the loved ones who have passed, embodying the connection between generations.
